Urad Dal
Urad Dal are black lentils that are skinned and split, to reveal their white insides. They cook up thick and creamy.

There is no need to soak before using.

They can be used in soups and purées, and can be fried up to be used as a seasoning.

They can also be ground into a flour. If you want to grind your own into flour, don't use a blender. You may burn it out. Use a food processor instead.

Also called: White Gram
