Trout Beans
Trout Beans are a kidney-bean type bean, with a kidney-bean shape, and are about 1/2 inch (1 cm) long.

They have an off-white background with dark purple mottling, which sometimes almost entirely covers the bean.

When cooked, Trout Beans have an almost sweet taste.

They are ready for harvest 90 days from seed.

Cooking Tips
Trout Beans holds their shape when cooked, making it good for salads.

They are also good for stews, soups and casseroles.

History
Trout Beans were reputedly brought to North America by way of Germany. A few sources say it was developed by a man named "Jacob Trout", but that seems doubtful, as no one knows exactly who he was.
