 Wok Strainer
A Spider Strainer is a low, shallow, round basket on a handle.
The basket can be made of brass or stainless-steel wire. It is called "spider" because it looks a bit like a metal spider web.
The handle is usually made of bamboo or wood.
A small-sized basket may be 4 to 5 inches (10 to 12 1/2 cm) wide, and about 10 inches (25 cm) long altogether. Large ones will likely have a 10 inch (25 cm) basket attached to a 13 inch (33 cm) long handle.
Spider Strainers are used in Asian cooking for stir-frying in woks, and deep-frying.
Some people say Spider Strainers make the best kitty-litter scoops.
