    
Redina Lettuce
Redina is a burgundy-coloured salad green with a very mild flavour, and no bitterness at all to speak of.
How deeply red its leaves get depends on how young you harvest it, and on the quality of the soil.
It can be harvested young at 30 days as baby leaves, or as fully grown leaves at 55 days. When harvested as baby leaves, a whole leaf will be a dull burgundy colour, paler at the base. The leaves will be toothed at the edges, but they will be flat, not curly. When allowed to grow to full size, the lettuce looks like a curly head of romaine lettuce, green at the very base but progressively turning into a glossy, darker burgundy as you move up the leaves.
Redina Lettuce bolts slowly in the heat, and allows for both a spring crop and a fall crop; it tolerates the cooler months at either end of the growing season.
It is becoming popular in American south-west.
