A Ping Pong is a beverage, but the term is used to refer to two different ones: a non-alcoholic drink, and a cocktail.

The two drinks are related only by their colour (and their name.) Though the non-alcoholic one can be transformed into an alcoholic one, its taste will be completely different from the classic cocktail.

Non-alcoholic Ping Pongs

These are pink, semi-frozen drinks, the flavour of the soft drink called nectar (almond and vanilla.) They are very, very sweet.

For 12 to 20 people:
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 litre Nectar (substitute: red cream soda)

Mix in a blender, pour into freezer bags, seal and freeze. As it starts to set, squeeze the bag, then put back in freezer. Repeat until the mixture is slushy, then serve in a glass with a straw. A shot of vodka per glass may be added if desired to turn this into an alcoholic drink.

For a less sweet drink, you may swap in plain evaporated milk for the sweetened condensed.

Ping Pong Cocktails

1 egg white
juice of 1/4 lemon
2 oz sloe gin

Shake with ice, strain into cocktail glass, serve.
