    
Marion Berries
Marion Berries are a variety of blackberry. They grow on a bush with thorny canes that trail; nevertheless, the bush can grow up to 20 feet (6 metres) tall.
They are lighter in colour than Boysenberries and somewhat tarter. The colour of the berries ranges from dark red to dull black. They are round, large (the average berry weighs about 1/5 oz / 5 g), and are juicy with good flavour.
Marion Berries are popular in Oregon with commercial growers.
History
Marion Berries were developed jointly by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Oregon State University from a cross between Chehalem blackberries and Olallieberry blackberries. They were released 1956.
