Karaka Black Berries
© Copyright 2010. Do not copy. All rights reserved and enforced.Karaka Black Berry bushes have thorns, but produce high yields of easy to reach and pick fruit. The fruit ripens over a 6 to 8 week period, making it good for pick your own operations.
The berries are large, about 1/3 oz (10 g) in weight.
The longish, glossy black berries are firm with a mild blackberry taste. They can be tart if not allowed to fully ripen.
Karaka Black Berries were developed by HortResearch in New Zealand, who hold the rights to it, from a cross between two berries referred to as "M103" and "N71."
