Emincer
A French cooking term that means to slice thinly.

Language Notes
"Mince" in French means thin.

Often mistakenly thought by English-speaks to mean "chop finely", based on what the English word "mince" means. But to mince / émincer are what French teachers used to call "faux amis" -- very similar words in the two languages that actually have different meanings.

Also called: Émincer (French) Scheiben (German)
