Eastern Carolina Coleslaw

Typical salad made in the American eastern Carolinas to accompany barbeque.


    Ingredients

    1 1/2 pound Cabbage medium-size head
    4 Green Onions
    1 cup Mayonnaise
    2 tablespoons Sugar
    2 tablespoons Vinegar
    1 teaspoon Celery Seed
    1 teaspoon Salt





    Directions



    Chop the green onions thinly including the stalks; put into a large bowl.

    Grate the cabbage finely; add to the bowl and toss with the green onion.

    Combine remaining ingredients, pour over cabbage, toss, and store covered in refrigerator. Let chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
