Shrewsbury Biscuits

You can add a handful of currants if you wish.


Ingredients

8 oz Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Butter
1/2 teaspoon Caraway
1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
2 teaspoons Rose Water
1 Egg





Directions


Cooking at: 375 F / 190 C / Gas Mark 5

Start heating your oven. Grease a cookie sheet.

Mix all dry ingredients, then rub or cut the butter in. In a cup, mix the egg and rose water together, then stir that into the dry ingredients.

Roll out on a floured surface to about 1 foot x 1 foot (30 cm sq). Cut into shapes (squares are fine) and place spaced out on cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes.
