Cushaw Green Striped Squash has a long, curved neck coming out of a bulbous body, and green stripes on a cream-coloured rind.

It grows to be about 17 inches (43 cm) long by 10 inches (25 cm) wide at its widest point, and weigh an average of 10 to 12 pounds (4 1/2 to 5 1/2 kg.)

Inside, it has pale yellowish-orange flesh that is somewhat coarse and stringy, but that has a mild, sweet taste.

The plant has long vines.

75 to 115 days from seed.

Cooking Tips
Good for pies and baking, and can be eaten as a summer squash when only a few inches long.

Storage
Stores well.

History
Some sources feel that Cushaw Green Striped Squash developed in the 1860s in Wardsboro, Vermont. Others think it came straight from the Caribbean, arriving in America before 1893.
