Cubanelle Sweet Pepper
Cubanelle Sweet Peppers are very similar to banana peppers. Often yellow Cubanelle Peppers are called mistakenly banana peppers, though Cubanelles are generally stubbier than banana peppers and have thinner walls.

Cubanelles can be 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 cm) long, tapering towards the end, and up to 2 1/2 inches (6 cm) wide at its widest point. The colours will range from pale green to yellow to orange to red. The red ones are the fully ripe ones, though they are usually picked and sold as light green.

They are sweet, mild peppers with more flavour than Bell peppers. They also have a lower water content than Bell peppers, so are good for frying and other cooking uses.

Cooking Tips
The skin can be a bit tough when cooked.

Storage
Store yellow and green ones in fridge in a plastic bag for up to a week; red ones will keep only a few days.

Language Notes
Despite the name "Cubanelle", this pepper was actually developed in Italy.
