Alagold Pumpkins
The shape of Alagold Pumpkins varies from that of a cylinder to that of a bell.
They have a very meaty, small seed cavity, and dark sweet golden flesh.
The flavour is reminiscent of Butternut Squash, but they have softer flesh and and are larger overall.
Used as a vegetable.
Alagold Pumpkins are popular in the southern US states.
Storage
Stores well.
History
Bred by the Alabama Polytechnic Institute in Auburn, Alabama from various seeds from Africa.
Released 1947.
