 Hidden Rose Apples
Airlie Red Flesh are medium-sized apples.
They have green skin covered with flushes of red, and inside, crisp flesh that ranges in colour from a pink blush to a dark red.
The flavour is a balance of sweetness and tartness.
The tree flowers with fragrant deep pink blossoms in the spring, and produces a late October harvest. It will grow 4 to 5 metres (12 to 15 feet) tall, and requires about 4 years of growth before it starts to fruit.
Hidden Rose and Airlie are said to be the same apples by many, though they describe Hidden Rose as having yellow skin, freckled with pale white dots.
